This week, on a marathon edition of 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - dig deep on the FC Dallas elimination game from the 2025 playoffs. There was so much good on display with just a bit of bad at the very end. Still, the display was inspiring in many ways, and yet still sad for a great many fans.

So the next season is upon us, and that means it's time to kick it all off with our annual "Dump or Keep" game, as your hosts run through the roster and tell you who should stay and who should go. 

Plus, Dallas Trinity is back at it against DC Power to kick off a 6-of-7-at-home stretch. 

And Buzz talked to Texoma FC owner Ben Watson about what's next for the team.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, FC Dallas is on fire!  Your hosts - Peter Welpton and Buzz Carrick (Dan Crooke is on an excused absence and not injured) - enjoy the current form of the Burn.  Musa, Farrington, Urhoghide, Ramiro, Moore, Kamungo, Cappis... so many dudes are showing up, and Los Toros are 3-0-3 over the last 6. Don't look now, but your local MLS side is in the final play-in spot with 4 games to go.

Dallas Trinity got a tie on the road and remains atop the league despite the road stretch. The Golden Girls (amazing nickname) are struggling to score but are outplaying virtually everyone. 

North Texas SC got a massive road win with a bunch of kids and now sit 6th with 3 games left.

Unfortunately, the wheels are coming off in Texoma as the Red Birds fall to the worst team in USL-1.  It's not looking good up in Sherman. 

Finally, the matchups are out for the 2nd round of regional '26 Cup qualifying.

Dallas Trinity's Rhea Moore (the youngest pro women's goal scorer in US history) and Jacob Jackson (FC Dallas record 12 saves in a game). Two fantastic performances.

First, FC Dallas got a tie at StLou after Collodi's red card, thanks to the standout replacement keeper Jackson and a high press goal from Petar Musa. The Burn got Austin FC next, and ties aren't going to get that last playoff spot.

Then, undefeated Dallas Trinity tops the USL Super League at 3-0-0 when no one else has more than 1 win. DTFC picked up right where they left off last year with their rebuilt defense. 

North Texas SC got a shootout win and remains in 8th.
Texoma got blown out 5-0, but all anyone wants to know is, are they moving?
Atletico Dallas has an announcement on Tuesday, stay tuned. 
And local 2026 US Open Cup Qualifying starts this weekend.
