For the first time ever, 3rd & Longhorn sat down with someone from the other side of the Red River. Yes, Brian Bosworth is a Sooner. Yes, we let him on stage anyway. And Texas fans are going to want to hear this one.

The Boz grew up in Irving surrounded by Longhorn fans, including a high school coach who played “The Eyes of Texas” outside his locker all week. He tells us how that fueled a lifelong grudge, why he promised his grandfather he’d play at Oklahoma when he was 9 years old, how Barry Switzer unlocked the personality behind one of college football’s original trendsetters, and what it felt like to dominate Texas in 1985.

He also breaks down what a great defense has to do to win games when the offense isn’t holding up its end, and why he still thinks Texas-OU is the best rivalry in college football.

The #1 Texas Longhorns go down in Dallas. Oklahoma wins the Red River Rivalry 27-24 on Tate Sandell’s 47-yard field goal as time expired, and we’re LIVE breaking down all of it.

Texas held Oklahoma to 238 total yards, forced seven three-and-outs, and gave up just one offensive touchdown, and still lost. The guys go through how that happened:

Offense: Arch Manning throws for 260 yards and 3 TDs, including a 41-yard strike to Cam Coleman and the game-tying score to Jermaine Bishop Jr., but no first downs on the first four drives and two costly interceptions
Defense: a dominant day against John Mateer and the Sooners’ offense, until two completions to Isaiah Sategna in the final 19 seconds
Special teams: the blocked punt recovered for an Oklahoma touchdown, and Gianni Spetic’s 53-yard miss with 1:55 left
Crucial plays: Peyton Bowen’s 42-yard pick-6, the third-down pass interference that set up OU’s only offensive TD, and Courtland Guillory’s interception with 19 seconds to go

Number one Texas escapes Knoxville with a 20-17 win over Tennessee and the whole crew is in the room to break it all down. Rod Babers, Jeremy Hills, Fozzy Whittaker, Alex Okafor, Mark Higgins, and Nick Shuley go through every angle of a game that saw Colin Simmons break the Texas record with 5.5 sacks as part of a historic ten sack defensive performance.
