This Sunday we hear a few messages that all point toward the efficiency of the sacraments. Most notably the Gospel portion tells us about the experience of Jesus on the road to Emmaus. For in each of these selections from sacred scripture we are pointed toward the sacrifice of Christ and pointed toward his being alive in the resurrection.
