Chaotica by Michelangelo

4. Inspiring through Virtual Reality (Maxim Perumal, founder UNAI)

Listen Later

Maxim bio: 21yo hardware philosopher Maxim Perumal. At 15, from his small room, he built the world's most popular open-source VR Headset that you could build yourself at home for $100 bucks. After meeting the Chief Oculus Architect, he turned down working for Meta at 15. Later on, he started Unai: whilst everyone is focusing on mass market and gaming VR,  he’s trying to achieve the iphone moment for VR by focusing solely on remote presence, and building the full stack himself, from hardware  to OS, to protocol to content. We backed his vision here at Stride, and other investors include La Famiglia, NFX, Lachy Groom and Naval and Steve Jobs’ trusted Chief of Communication, James Vincent.

Themes discussed: Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, metaverse, virtual worlds.
