Dr. Mark Lefsrud is an Associate Professor at McGill University and leads the Biomass Production Laboratory. The Biomass Production Laboratory focused on developing methods and technologies to improve environmental control, energy efficiency, harvesting and post-harvest handling and to help unearth the bioprocesses of living organisms. Mark grew up on a farm in Alberta, Canada, where he learned the value of shortening the nutrient cycle between production and waste.
