Jemile has been signing autographs since he was a kid growing up in Altamonte Springs, FL. His brother was the second overall pick in the MLB draft in 2003. Jemile was an 8th rounder out of high school where he turned down a heavy 6 figure bonus to then play at the University of Miami (🙌). He was an All-American in college, leading Miami to 2 College World Series appearances. He played on team USA, and became the 12th overall pick by the Oakland A’s. His first year in 'The Show' with Oakland, he was damn near Rookie of the Year. He went on to play 6 seasons in the major leagues....before abruptly being forced to retire due to epileptic seizures in 2018 ((insert skidding tires sound effect))...
While everything above represents a multitude of individual accomplishments for Jemile, he’ll be the first to give the credit to his family for instilling deep seeded values, work ethic, and discipline in his mindset. He's also hyper-aware most kids growing up aren't as fortunate. Immediately after Jemile finished playing, he set out on a mission to provide educational, athletic, and life skills resources to local underserved youth. Jemile is currently CEO of WeFam and one of the most driven people I know, led by his pursuit to change the narrative in underserved youth communities.
