CPL Oldrati by all accounts is an honorable and elite police officer. In 2021, he was responding to an armed burglary call when he saw a man with a fully extended arm and weapon pointed at a fellow officer. Oldrati chose to engage. His actions were dismissed by all state and local authorities. He returned to service, earned promotions and honors.

But years after the matter seemed closed, the politicization of law enforcement found CPL Oldrati in the cross hairs. A new elected and ambitious Attorney General deemed it appropriate to call a grand jury to put CPL Oldrati on administrative leave indefinitely , to review the case, and charge him with reckless manslaughter. Still years into the saga, CPL Oldrati remains without pay, and without justice. We speak with his mother and chief advocate, Barbara Oldrati, about the injustice facing her son.
