The Navajo Code is one of the few military codes throughout history that was never broken in its lifetime. United States Marines from the Navajo Nation used this code, which was based on their native tongue, to efficiently and securely send highly sensitive military information during WWII. The ingenuity of the code and the bravery of the men who employed it can not be understated. In this episode, I talk about the Navajo Code Talkers and why they were so crucial to America's military efforts in the Pacific theater during WWII. I learned a lot while making this episode and I believe you'll learn a lot by listening.
