This conversation is so good, it’s sinful.
(Sorrynotsorry for that horrible pun.)
Is Original Sin a helpful doctrine in the Christian faith? What has been the fruit of this doctrine in the lives of people who grew up inside the Church? What is the relationship between the doctrine of Original Sin and the presence of shame in our lives? Where does this doctrine come from, and does it still mean today what it originally meant? And ultimately...should we still hold onto Original Sin, condemn it, or perhaps simply set it aside for a while, until we can revisit it without it being as tangled as it has become today?
In this episode, Tom and Pete consider this long-held doctrine within many Christian traditions (yes, that’s a small hint that says, not EVERY Christian tradition has held this doctrine!), starting with how it’s affected them in their own faith journeys.
