#4: Sex determines pain, and how cursing could help reduce pain

Listen Later

Dr. Paul Ragusa DC shares an article covering how your X or Y sex chromosome could influence what/how you feel pain. Studies in mice show there's a strong immune difference between how male and female mice feel pain and the similar differences in humans. Dr. Rick Angel, MD follows it up with how cursing can help increase pain tolerance. His article compared British and Japanese participants as a cross-cultural experiment to see if cursing affected pain tolerance because Japanese rarely curse as a response to pain, nor have many curse words.
