A few days after Easter in 1977, a reader wrote The Philadelphia Inquirer, to ask whether "Jesus of Nazareth," the two-part TV program that was shown by NBC on Palm Sunday and Easter, was available in book form. The newspaper's answer was priceless: "It has been available for nearly 2,000 years, but if you want the NBC version, you can get it from Ballantine Books for $1.95."
Two-thirds of the gospel story in the New Testament is devoted to the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each writer of the gospel had carefully and meticulously recorded these historical facts. The Bible says when the women reached the sepulcher, the tomb was empty and the stone was rolled away. At the heart of the gospel is the fact of the empty tomb. Without hesitation we can declare that the tomb is empty, the throne is filled, and Jesus is alive!
