4. Thought vs. Fact: What You and Flat Earthers Have in Common

When deciding what to believe about ourselves and the world we often resort to being "realistic". We think some thoughts are more realistic than others and therefore we look for evidence before we fully believe it to be true. 'Cause who wants to be delusional?

The problem is that we often take this concept way too far. It stops us from believing things about ourselves and our abilities which leads to results we don't like. We look for evidence in our lives to support the thoughts we already think on a regular basis and find that evidence over and over again, which makes that belief even stronger.

So how do we get out of this negative spiral of creating evidence for negative thoughts, which makes the negative thoughts stronger and stronger? First, we need to understand the order things happen.
