When your child starts learning to read, they will go through a journey.
They'll go through lots of different milestones as they go on that journey. Sometimes you might see that their friends or their peers are going quicker than them and sometimes slower than them. But they are all on their own unique individual journey.
As part of working out where they are on their journey, we need to follow teaching cycles to continue to review where they are at and create progress. Focused instruction creates the biggest impact and progress for their reading.
