What's your mission? Good question. In our current culture there are a plethora of missions to choose from. For instance, you could make a crazy amount of money, and retire at 45 to live the good life. Maybe your mission is to find the right person to live the happily-ever-after life. Your mission could focus on making a name for yourself--becoming famous, or maybe your mission is to settle down a raise a family. As you know, this list could go on and on! So, once again, what is your mission?
To live as a citizen of the Kingdom of God, we are given a mission. When Jesus called his first disciples, he gave them a specific vision of what they would become if they followed him. Here is the mission: “And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of people.” ~ Matthew 4:19 The call from Jesus is to follow him so that he can train them for the mission of "fishing for people". Obviously, there is a lot to unpack there, but one can't deny that the mission isn't evident. Following Jesus is to lead to a mission of "fishing for people." To learn more about this mission and listen to part four of Kingdom Come.
