Kirk Reflections 29th December 2024
Revd. Erick du Toit brings this week's reflection from Kirkliston Parish Church, Scotland.
We trust you had a marvellous time over Christmas and that it will continue into 2025.
'Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.'
Luke 2:47
What are your hopes and dreams for the year ahead? To be honest, I’ve long decided that new year’s resolutions don’t really work for me. I’m super committed for the first month, I slip into old patterns and end up feeling guilty for 11 months!
But there is another way…
Some years ago, Mother Theresa said these profound words: “We are not called to be successful, but faithful.” If ever you needed reason to do things ‘differently’ in 2025 – there’s your mantra.
This week, we look at the only recorded story of Jesus’ youth (from Luke 2) and how it can help us prepare afresh for the year ahead.
We wish you every blessing and God's peace as you embrace his everlasting love in 2025!
