After 24 years, I finally got to be reunited with my cousin Mansfield at a powwow in Grand Rapids! It was absolutely surreal and so many things happened that were affirming to me not only as a Multi-Racial person, but also as a Choctaw and Cherokee woman. Despite everything else going on, I'm so happy with how far I've come with my identity and reconnecting in just under a year. It's been a beautiful ride and one I hope to continue forever. Thank you to all of you who've been incredibly supportive and have helped buoy me through the rough patches. I am so incredibly grateful for each and one of you in our Some Kind of Brown family! If you are also a member of the Patreon family, you now have access to the next episode, 41 - Beyond the News August 2019 Part 2. I hope you enjoy that episode and that we can continue the conversation!
Colorfully,
Natalie
