Day 10: Second Most Beautiful Scene

Jonah 3:7,8

And he issued a proclamation and published through Nineveh, “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Let them not feed or drink water, but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and let them call out mightily to God. Let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.

Have you ever heard of animals fasting??

After Jonah proclaimed gospel in Nineveh, King of that country got convicted. He decreed a very severe fast.

Can you picture the scene in your mind?

All families including women, children, elders and even pets and animals were fasting.

In my opinion the best scene in the Bible is of the glory of God.

Second best scene is this one. Similar thing happened during Jehoshaphat’s time. What a scene to behold…..all families praying in the presence of God while fasting!!!

No wonder….what followed was greatest revival recorded in the Bible and history!!!

Nineveh was revived and saved by God!!!

When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
