Incubi and their contrast, Succubi are thought to be demons that have sexual relations with women and men, respectively, mostly while they are sleeping or in an otherwise compromised state. Some people believe that incubus and succubus demons are the same entity, simply switching back and forth from male to female, while others believe they are two separate entities entirely, often times working together to produce half-demon, half-human children. Variations of the incubus and the succubus vary in an incredible amount of folklore across the world. From historical to biblical mythology, there have been many iterations of these demons, but are they actually real, or just an extreme example of sleep paralysis?
