40. The Sam's Wholesale Church

40. The Sam’s Wholesale Church

It seems like a lot of people

have stopped going to church.

Instead on Sunday’s

they all go to Sam’s…

Piling in there in all

shapes, colors, and sizes,

pouring out of trucks,

classic-cars, and minivans.

…If our ‘God’…

is from what we derive our meaning.

Then bulk consuming

and material-goods competing

is now what draws in the

congregants streaming.

As we crowd-fund

plastic water bottle pollution.

And keep the masses satiated

and sleepily producing.

But this exponential producing

seems to me to be end times inducing.

Because ‘meaning’ is now sought in ‘stuff’.

Stuff emerging from merciless

environmental abusing.

As separate-ego’s bow…

bow down before the gods of consuming.

What is the future

we are growing from this now?

What is the consciousness grown

from material goods

as the object of our bows?

The world’s foundations sure seem to be

getting pretty shaky.

Meaning is disappearing

as quickly as

rotisserie-chickens lately.

Because our Sunday sermons

now come from the sample lady.
