Former Derry City player Denis Tueart returned to the city on September 20th to mark the 40th Anniversary of the club’s first competitive game under the FAI. In conversation with Dee Curran, Denis reflects on his time with the club – from Eamonn McLaughlin persuading him to sign, to his experiences of the security situation in the city during that era. He discusses whether he felt pressure as a marquee signing, and clears up the long-debated moment: was his famous setup for Barry McCreadie’s goal a cross or a mis-hit shot?
