In our season finale, we sit down with Jianing Li, Luciana Lilley, and Tifany Soga to review Netflix's The Chair. We chat about the key themes, how accurately it matches up with our experiences in academia, and unpack some of its more problematic moments.

The Chair was released by Netflix earlier this year. For everyone who hasn’t had a chance to watch it yet, Netflix summarises the plot of the first season as follows: At a major university, the first woman of color to become chair tries to meet the dizzying demands and high expectations of a failing English department.
