Sandor Katz, a self-described to fermentation fetishist, joins us for our first show in 2014 to discuss the symbiotic relationship with good bacteria around the food and the gut. We discuss how we can get more good bacteria from certain foods, where to start and how easy it is!
With a "war of bacteria" and the rise in anti-bacterial products, this episode will help you to understand the difference between good and bad bacteria and how you can use food to help you on a journey to better gut and overall health.
About Sandor Katz
Sandor Katz is a self-taught fermentation experimentalist. He has written a number of books including Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods, The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved: Inside America's Underground Food Movements and The Art of Fermentation. He has strong message around the importance of good bacteria and the importance of producing not only consuming food for both our own health and the wider environment.
