Here it is! Episode 41! This episode is special to both Dennis and myself as we speak to Mark Wan, a lecturer from Singapore who is an Evidence Based teaching and learning practitioner. We talk to Mark and unpack his methods and how he uses creative methods that are evidence based to help build student understanding and more importantly, help build and sustain student motivation. As we unpack his methods, we also link it to evidence based principles and also talk about how teachers can get into the action.
Mark Wan is a Specialist (T&L) from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Singapore Polytechnic. He finds fulfilment in working closely with students and sharing his experiences with them. He consistently looks for different ways to bring his classroom to life. He likes to experiment with various types of pedagogy and the power of EdTech tools to engage better and support students’ learning. His interest included Data-enabled differentiated flipped learning, Evidence-based learning, self-directed learning, Pedagogy, Andragogy, Evidence-based reflective practice, and Flipped learning.
In part 2, Mark Wan shares the quote from Aaron Sams - a pioneer in Flipped Learning while Mark shares about ITP metrics which is a free teamwork assessment tool that you can check out.
