41. The Threshing Floor
I just saw an image…
somewhere inside my brain.
It was a large stone inside a circle,
a whipping post for the releasing of grain.
A hulk of stone was positioned just at the center.
Like a saddle horn for the threshing of wheat,
purposed to test resolve,
of grains that strong and grains that weak.
I’m not exactly sure? Just why I saw it?
What this image was intended to convey?
All I can think is that it was an analogy.
Like a parable… for the meaning of these days.
Somewhere along the way to today,
we decided the point of life
was to live like kings.
Demanding, more comfort, more pleasures, more things.
What have these recent times been
but a threshing floor?
Freeing humanity’s seed
from Our bondage
from attachments,
unconscious desires
and cults of more.
It seems humanity is being flailed
in order to free Us,
from scarcity-consciousness
and endless economic-wars.
