This week on the Indie Author Interview series I am talking with Catherine Haigh, who has written and illustrated a children’s book called ‘The Powerful Peacock’ to help with anxiety. It is about accepting ourselves and the simple gestures that connect us with our children through our busy days.

Catherine is based in Queensland and after teaching in Montessori primary schools, kindergartens and childcare centres over the last 30 years, she has brought together this experience and knowledge to her own in-home Montessori inspired preschool.

She also facilitates workshops for adults and children combining art and self-empowerment.

“In many families both parents work, this can often equate to children going to childcares younger and I felt I could make that difference to help children feel heard, valued, connected and implement my love of intrinsic motivation and self-empowerment. I enjoy being a role model and inspiring children to learn and believe in themselves. This is how my art workshops were birthed.”
