Sarah MacLaughlin is a phenomenal friend, social worker, parent educator, and author.  Her latest book, "Raising Humans With Heart", is about raising whole-hearted children from our personal heart space as adults with our unique history and lens. 

In this episode, we dive into universal parenting topics, such as how to navigate boundaries, conflict resolution, self care, sexuality, inclusion, and play. I especially enjoyed Sarah's perspective on the boundary dance-how parents can set firm and kind boundaries and change our minds with authority. 

We discussed how to bring more pleasure, play, and self care into our lives and the lives of our children from the lens of inclusivity and connection. Sarah offers compassionate languaging for difficult conversations around bias and sex that will speak to parents of kids of all ages. 

Sarah challenges us to ask an important question in each of our interactions with our children: "Is this interaction building connection or breaking connection?"
