This might actually be "Oops, All Assholes 2: Electric Boogaloo". OP and his fiance create their own personal Hunger Games to see who gets to attend their private island wedding. An entire family tell their daughter that she doesn't matter to them. Some dumb man decides to give a precious heirloom to his stepson instead of his daughter, all because stepson decided to do the correct LifeSteps (TM) way too young. And, as promised, a man who doesn't understand how real, live female bodies work - like at all.
