My friend Chad Hason has taken over The Kondrat Podcast to celebrate 420!  Chad talks to experts to find out where their passion for cannabis came from, what the challenges are in this relatively new industry, and what the future looks like for growers, retailers and consumers.  Check out all four surprisingly interesting conversations today!

For the fourth and final conversation, Chad meets up with Jeff Karren with Joi Botanicals.  Jeff was born in Edmonton and moved to Calgary at a young age where he attended elementary, junior high, and high schools.  He started his professional career in 2008 working in the procurement department of an EPC company operating in the oil & gas industry.  Jeff completed a Bachelor’s in Management from the University of Lethbridge in 2009, and transferred the same year to work on an active construction site north of Fort McMurray.  

After coming back to Calgary in 2010, Jeff continued to work in various supply chain and quality roles until the fall of 2015.  Jeff started officially working on Joi Botanicals in early 2016 and he hasn’t stopped since.  Jeff started with a concept and a dream in 2016, and with the help of countless others, has created a company that in early 2021 is selling adult-use cannabis products legally in Alberta.
