I've Been Better

43: w/ Sarah Smith on the Fs: fathers, friends, and finding frogs

Listen Later

On this week's episode of I've Been Better, our host Susan Youngsteadt talks with good friend and fellow griefy, Sarah Smith. The two cover everything from the shared experience of the death of a parent, finding joy in the metaphysical world, and our healthy skepticism of the unknown being challenged.

Sarah currently serves as the Assistant Director of Civic Engagement at the Campus Y (UNC-Chapel Hill). The Campus Y is the hub for social justice at UNC and serves 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students who are passionate about making positive social change in their communities. She is a graduate of UNC (2010) with a BA in Anthropology and minors in Social & Economic Justice/Asian Studies. Sarah also earned her M. Phil in International Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin in 2015. Her fun fact, Sarah has won 2 Blue Ribbons at the NC State Fair. Sarah’s life mantra comes from the poem Andrea Gibson, “Let your heart break so your spirit doesn’t.”
