1 John 2 tells us it’s not the full truth to just talk about the truth — we can and should actually live it.

Every requirement of the old covenant was met through Jesus’s death, and through Jesus’s resurrection we received His empowering Presence to live in His fullness.

That means that every command and promise we come across in scripture should not cause us dread of missing the mark, but be seen as an invitation for upgrade.
