Today, we’re heading to the east coast to visit the Gulf Islands National Seashore. We work through a Junior Ranger activity together and explore the natural beauty of the seashore, the formation and geological history of the park, its Indigenous heritage, the diverse plants and animals that inhabit the area, the park's establishment as a national seashore, and the numerous recreational opportunities it offers, especially the fascinating dune systems and forts, and how we spent our time there.
Junior Rangers are explorers, learning all about the park’s ecosystems, plants and animals, and how to protect nature. The Junior Ranger program is not just for kids; it's for the young, and the young at heart!

All of our episodes are created by trail lovers, for trail lovers. We’ve especially enjoyed what we previously called “Trail Lovers” episodes, inspired by our passion for hiking. Originally, these were intended to be the episodes where we highlighted hikes and shared more about our travels. Over time, those details just naturally worked their way into every episode where we talk about a place we’ve visited.
Any trail or hike we mention is shared as a genuine recommendation, and one of our favorite ways to revisit and present our park experiences is by drawing from Robin’s travel journal or reviewing our itineraries to highlight the very best moments. We’ll continue including the term “Trail Lovers” in episode descriptions and occasionally mention it within the episodes themselves, because in truth, all of our episodes are Trail Lovers episodes—created by Trail Lovers and Nature Lovers, for Trail Lovers and Nature Lovers.
A Special Thanks to Gulf Island National Seashore!
