In this episode of Brave & Bloom, I’m sharing how writing a letter to my younger self became one of the most powerful tools in healing depression, anxiety, and emotional wounds. We talk about why healing doesn’t mean living in the past, how inner child work helps release patterns that keep us stuck, and how our triggers in motherhood can point us to what needs healing. I walk you through exactly how to do this exercise, including visualization and using your non-dominant hand to access deeper emotions.
Healing depression means healing my past, not reliving it.I don’t go back to the past to stay stuck or play the victim. I use it as a healing tool to release patterns rooted in anxiety, depression, and emotional pain so I can move forward with clarity and freedom.
Writing a letter to my younger self is a powerful healing tool. When I write to the version of me that was hurt, scared, or abandoned, I give her a voice and the love she didn’t receive. This creates safety in the body and begins real emotional healing.
My triggers in motherhood point to what needs healing, not what’s wrong with me.When I feel reactive, overwhelmed, or overstimulated, it’s often connected to unmet needs from my own childhood. My emotions are signals, not my identity, and healing the root changes how I show up as a mother.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, reactive, or disconnected from the version of yourself you want to be, this episode is an invitation to begin healing with compassion, safety, and love.
