Uroboros (Greek (drakin) ouroboros, (snake) eating its tail’). A circular symbol of eternity or wholeness consisting of a snake curled round to swallow its own tail. The earliest recorded example of it is from Egypt around 1600 BC, and it resurfaces subsequently in many other civilizations in Asia and Europe.
