Mark 3:13 says, “Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.” Reading this passage of scripture, it’s easy to miss a key point. In the following verses Jesus appoints the twelve to send them out to preach. As we have learned through history, all but one of the disciples died horrific deaths for the sake of the gospel.
