Being ‘strong and wrong’ or willing to be strong and wrong is such an important part, I think, for all of us as creatives, we have to be willing to be strong enough to say.’I like this idea, I'm going to follow it through’ and we also have to be willing for it to be wrong and not great because when you're making something, well generally in my experience, you only know what the finished product should look like well after It's done and finished or maybe that's just me.

Being strong and wrong and choosing to say it's okay if this doesn't turn out exactly as I wanted to be, it is about I'm going to have a go and see,

I am certainly not the only person who advocates this being strong and wrong stuff.
There’s a really famous recounting by Herbie Hancock, he was playing with Miles Davis, one night live and he said I played a note that was so wrong. It was just, it was just horrendous, it was nowhere near any associated key, it made no musical sense at all to what we were doing.
And Miles Davis just looked at him as if to say ‘I hear you man’ and then Miles took that really wrong note and made it a right note, he wove that note in and out in patterns and made it a thing and Herbie Hancock.later referred to it as been willing to have the extra butter,that is willing to be wrong and seeing where your life can go.

JK Rowling of Harry Potter authorship stardom in her Harvard Commencement address, she said
that when she was writing Harry Potter- ‘penniless, In depression, because her mother had died, having come out of abusive relationship, being on her own on benefits with a young daughter, she was writing and she said by every standard, I was the greatest failure I knew and it's okay to fail, because when we're trying to create something you never know,

JK Rowling, then sent the first Harry Potter book after something like,18 Publishers that then rejected her. So the chairman of Bloomsbury actually got his daughter to read the first chapter of Harry.
Potter and it was only because she said, ‘I want to read the next chapter’ that they even decided to publish it. But even when they went and published that first Harry Potter, the chairman of Bloomsbury said, to JK Rowling, you need to go and get another job because you're never going to make any money, enough money to live. as a children's author. Now we all know
what happens. It required her to just go down a path of creativity of the things she wanted to make. Get it finished and be willing to keep on going and keep on pushing out, being strong and wrong because you need the faith.

I don't know what you're trying to be strong and wrong about right now.
It's that ‘perfect is the enemy of good’ thing
but whatever it is that you're trying to make or trying to move forward whether it's a half done project or something that you're finished.
So, pick something where you're going, ‘I'm willing to really strong and really wrong’ and have a play.
That's my take of the week. So pick a project, it doesn't matter whether it is at the end of the beginning of the middle of something, it doesn't matter, just get it to the next hurdle. And then the next, and the next and be prepared to be strong and wrong.

So wherever you are, be strong and fabulously wrong!.

About me, Marysia Trembecka

I am at heart a storyteller and this has translated from the initial creation of work to being a performer, including film and theatre acting, writing and performing international touring comedy shows to MCing.

Highlights include sell-out Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe shows, singing at the Royal Festival Hall in 23 different languages, as well as doing TEDx talks and corporate gigs, such as the Brit Awards Afterparty at the 02 as my ‘The Singing Psychic’ bio queen character.

My ‘THE SINGING PSYCHIC’ who ‘reads the songs in your heart’ also has a GAME SHOW version, and was a finalist in Best Show, Funny Women in 2016, and I have toured internationally since then.
I have also produced five webseries as the character including my 23 episode SONGS OF BREXIT webseries I made for the June 2016 EU Referendum, on the pros and cons of the EU, I started the web series singing The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now’. It was very wll received due to the blend of education and entertainment, and I ended up on London Live and even a BBC2 Live Debate on the National Living Wage amongst other press of the back of that.


I also was awarded Arts Council funding for research on a solo show on how we are all judged by our sexuality, so as part of that, I interviewed people on the cutting edge of sexual politics. From this I then created another character ‘Queen Of The F*cking World’ which has also toured internationally from Glasgow WOFF film festival in the female perspective strand to sell-out London, Edinburgh and Adelaide runs. I sing and play the bass guitar and guitar in this show.
