Guest: Sharad Kumar. Sharad has spent 20 plus years in semiconductor engineering working on several aspects of chip design and leading large global teams. In 2016 he enrolled in a management program at MIT and his course project on finding missing children using AI techniques were rated top of the class cohort. That led to the formation of Nurithm Labs in 2018 with the intent to provide AI solutions in healthcare. The team focused on Dermatology working with some of the best doctors in India. Nurithm has built a clinically validated solution where they can diagnose 50 plus skin conditions with an accuracy close to that of trained dermatologists. Their clinical study of 5,500 patients is the largest published study in this area. They are now working with both local and global public health and private organizations to enable overall improvements in diagnosis and benefit to patients.
