Michelle is a holistic general practitioner and Ron a holistic dentist. But what does holistic mean?
In this episode we explore the 'what is holistic health'. We discuss Hippocrates, the reductionist medical model, mind-body medicine, Descartes and his concept of how in order to understand how things work we need to break them down into their smallest part. We also look at evidence-based medicine versus research-based medicine and what it means to be looking at the person behind the illness not just the illness.

About Dr Ron Ehrlich
Dr Ron is passionate about holistic health having formed Sydney Holistic Dental Centre (SHDC) over 30 years ago. SHDC looks at the person connected to the tooth, as well as the tooth. Dr Ron is the Vice-president and board member at the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM).
About Dr Michelle Woolhouse
Dr Michelle is passionate about holistic health as the founding director of Peninsula Holistic General Practice. Dr Michelle is also trained in complementary medicine including Hypnotherapy, nutritional medicine and mind-body medicine. Dr Michelle is also a board member at the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM).
