In this episode, we speak with Matt Soroczynski who is the Active Reserve Liaison Officer at the Cardinia Shire Council. Previously, Matt has been Assistant Coach of the Narre Warren Football Club u19's team in addition to coaching the senior football team at St. John's Regional College. Matt discusses his passion for coaching and how these experiences ultimately led him to land his current role at the Melbourne Football Club as Academy Assistant Coach for the youth girls.
We chat to Matt about his choice to undertake a traineeship via AFL SportsReady rather than opting into the traditional university pathway. Additionally, Matt gives insight into just how much behind-the-scenes work is required to get local sporting competitions prepared prior to the season and touches on some of the challenges faced by the Cardinia Shire Council during 2020.
