Outdoor Edge Cutlery Corp. was founded by current owner and president, David Bloch, in January 1988. Outdoor Edge’s first product, the Game Skinner, was developed for a senior design project while Bloch was attending the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.

His idea was to create a new ergonomic hunting knife that was faster and easier to use than the existing products on the market.
