Starting to understand the concept I’ve heard various people, including Alex Hormozi, discuss about how things aren’t good or bad, they just are, and how we define them is what makes them good or bad to us. I was thinking about the way I delivered news to Shane about not being able to take a big chunk of Victorian leads
from our lead supplier due to politics, and how I delivered it as bass news rather than just news. How I put my own negative spin on it before I had even given him a chance to process it exactly as I received it, just as news. This really applies to a lot of things, then it makes me think, it really comes down to how you define good or bad (another point Alex makes). Each persons definition of one event or news or whatever will be different from another’s. This then applies to emotions aswell, because we define things a certain way and then tell ourselves stories of how we should act according to those definitions based on our passed experiences with something similar, which is efficient I guess but could be holding you back if those stories aren’t serving you. To be honest this all just kind of keeps clicking the more I think about it, even as I’m sitting here writing out my thoughts for this podcast! It’s pretty cool to think about, but I wonder if I can apply it to myself. I will certainly try!
