Ep. 46 - Make Your Story Good Before Hollywood with Heart, Smarts & Sparkle

EPISODE DESCRIPTION:    
In this episode, Zena gives additional criteria that you can use to evaluate the merits of your story ideas. Using the tried and true formula of "Logos, Pathos, and Ethos," but changing it into modern day language and examining it Hollywood style, Zena explores the concepts of Heart, Smarts, & Sparkle as essential ingredients of any good story.

HEART - Is the emotional connection you make with your audience through your protagonist. It always comes from the characters.
SMARTS - Is the smart factor; there are two ways to achieve smarts.
      1.) Arena = taking people into a world they've never seen before.
      2.) Insight = profound lines, smart themes, something clever or extra intriguing.
SPARKLE - Is the extra magic; it's the hardest to quantify, but the most important.

These are additional things that you should look for when evaluating your story ideas. Having these will keep you from wasting your time on a project that just doesn't work.
