On this week's show we get excited about the imminent new Algiers album, compelling new music from Agnes Obel, and get lost in the chance discover of Cold Beat's Prism.
Our record of the week is a special one for me. A classic, perfect slice of jangly, surfy, inide-pop from the early-tens; Veronica Falls sophomore LP Waiting for Something to Happen. Some days this record is everything I need, melting at the sound of the harmonies and the thumping drums never cease to excite. It's a record I've wanted to share on the show for a while, because it just delights me. I'm happy to finally do so. We'll feature some of the solo work the band's members did later, too, and other tracks of the era.
