46 - Pagan Christmas, Deconstruction, and Chopping Off Hands?

I’ve been told Christmas was a pagan holiday. Is that true, and if it is, why do Christians celebrate it? I get very depressed this time of year. Christmas has always been hard for me. Is it wrong not to celebrate it? I’ve heard of several popular Christians deconstructing their faith and now say they are no longer Christian. What does deconstruction mean? Can you explain Deuteronomy  25:11-12? I’m struggling with why God would be okay with this as a punishment? One of my friends was making fun of Christianity and shared this verse to make a a point and I’ve been struggling since reading it. I didn’t believe it at first.
