46. The Journey To Financial Freedom & Self Independence

In this episode we talk about the journey to financial freedom and self independence, and some strategies that can help you achieve these goals.

Here’s some notes that might help you on your journey to financial freedom:

Economics (managing your money):

  • The foundation of financial independence is to spend less than you make.
  • Live below your means, you don’t need to have fancy things, be comfortable living frugally.
  • Comparing ourselves to others, and trying to feel important leads many into wage slavery & poverty.
  • Create a “peace of mind account” a.k.a an emergency fund first.
  • Track and budget your money as well as you can. Be scientific.
  • Avoid debt as much as you can.
  • Create multiple sources of passive income.

    • Life (make sure you have a clear conscience):

    • Understand yourself as much as you can. We think we know ourselves, but most of us have no idea who we really are.
    • Track and budget your time as well as you can. Be scientific.
    • Don’t get into careers that you’re not happy with.
    • Persevere and work hard, don’t give up easily on your dreams. You’ll almost always regret it.
    • Learn as much as you can about the universe: science, math, life, how things work.

      • Health (money doesn’t matter if you’re not healthy):

      • Eat healthy balanced meals. They don’t have to be fancy, expensive or taste the best.
      • Exercise every day, with no days off. You don’t have to do anything intense. Even 5 to 10 minutes can count.
      • Track your sleeping habits, so you can have energy during the day, to work towards independence.

        • Happiness = Reality/Expectations

        Keep your expectations low, and you’ll always be happy. I’m on this journey as well.
