47: Should More TV Adverts Be Audio Described?

Many blind and partially sighted people will be familiar with audio description on our televisions. AD, as it's known, is a narrative which is spoken, between actors dialogue, and gives a description of what's physically happening on screen to paint a picture of what's visually going on. The amount of AD content is growing, if a little slowly, but there is now a call for feedback on whether visually impaired people would like more audio description to feature on the adverts. RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Sonali Rai, from RNIB, to learn more about the consultation.
