Joan Cinquegrani grew up with "Type A" tendencies. Her background in non-profit events gives Joan a unique perspective on event execution and design within a budget. Her eye for detail ensures nothing falls through the cracks. Over the years, Joan's career path has lead her towards starting Five Grain Events in 2010, her very own event planning company.

In this episode, Joan discusses five takeaways about balancing business and family life for a parent: 1. Don't over structure - People function better with some level of routine that allows some room for flexibility. 2. Have a system - Having morning checklists, tasks calendars could be helpful to help reduce daily stress in your home - especially if you have a big family. 3. Go off plan - Give yourself permission to go off track / rest sometimes, listen to your body and energy levels as it won't always be the same every day. 4. Evaluate - There might be things that you keep putting off so take time to acknowledge them. Then take action either by the process of elimination or delegation. 5. Be comfortable with the constant sliding scale - This lifestyle can seem like a wheel of fortune - amazing at first then intolerable the next moment. Hold on as much as you can - just the fact that you're still afloat during a global pandemic shows how resilient you already are.
