On today’s lunch date episode, the crew is joined by guest blogger, K. Antoinette, and they read and analyze a Dear Nique letter. The writer is mourning the loss of a year and a half long toxic relationship. He admits to blocking her, and he also recognizes that leaving the relationship is better for him; unfortunately, he is struggling to cope with them no longer being together. He misses her, and he wants them to be on good terms. The team unanimously agree that the writer should work on his personal issues and deal with the root of why he wants to remain in a toxic relationship. C.L. seeks clarification: “Wait. A man wrote this,” he asks. Yusuf advises the writer to erase her as a contact and unfollow her on social media. Nique plays devil’s advocate and questions whether he was toxic in the relationship as well. Professor Tee challenges the writer to take time to write a list of all the things she’s done to make their relationship toxic. K. Antoinette interjects the point that some people only understand one love language, which may include yelling, arguing and other toxic forms of communicating.
