Hello, and welcome to Entangled! The podcast where we explore the science of consciousness, the true nature of reality, and what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. I’m your host Jordan Youkilis, and today I’m joined by Dr. Keith Wegman as part of the first interview in the Maharishi Vedic Sciences miniseries. Dr. Wegman heads the Consciousness & Human Potential program at Maharishi International University where he teaches courses in Sanskrit and MVS. Dr. Wegman is also a teacher of Transcendental Meditation and the Director of TM instruction at the Raj Ayurveda Health Spa. In this conversation, Keith defines Maharishi Vedic Sciences (MVS) and we discuss the nature of consciousness and its relationship to modern science. We next consider the distinctions between philosophy, religion, spiritual tradition and science. From there, we discuss the perennial philosophy and the idea that there are “many ways to the mountaintop”. We then discuss the history of Sanskrit and how the MVS interpretation of language differs from that of modern philologists. From there, we discuss the relationship between sound value and human physiology as well as the potential for vibratory medicine. We next discuss the relationship between name and form as it relates to vibratory consciousness. Then, we consider the collective consciousness, benefits of TM, and the broken paradigm of material physiology. We end the conversation discussing the viability of World Peace.
