Air ball. Air ball!!!
“Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons, every day of the week. This is message #48 and I am Aaron Havens.
Last night I stayed up way too late.
For a good reason though. Being from Colorado I like watching the Denver Nuggets play. And I watched as they secured a victory over the Lakers to move on in the playoffs.
My friends and I have a debate about whether they enjoy college sports or professional sports more. And I'm not really sure where I stand with that. I do know it seems like college athletes have a little more hunger than people that have already made it to the big times. They still have something to prove. However, last night, when I watched professional players go for it... it was impressive. For the most part, if someone would shoot the ball and it would hit the rim and bounce, they would still aggressively go for the ball and try to shoot it again or make a slam dunk. I only saw a few players whine when they did something poor, and the pace of the game didn't really allow them to be babies for too long. Every player had to be on point, and make the most of whatever they could.
What do you do when you shoot the basketball and it hits the rim and bounces off do you pouts and walk away embarrassed or do you run towards the rebound grab the ball and slam it? What do you do when you airball it it doesn't even hit the net or the rim? Do you get in your head, or do you move faster as quickly as you can to win the game.
Today. Grab that rim shot and slam it! Don't let a little miscalculation impact your game. Send another email have another conversation write another contract put your other shoe on whatever you need to do to go for it do my friends!
Big take away:
Where is an area where something didn't quite go your way this week. Did you respond aggressively or did you walk away defeat? What can you do to remind yourself, that if something doesn't go exactly the way you planned this week, you will grab that rim ball shot and dunk it?!
Thanks for calling in today. Tune in tomorrow for a fresh new topic.
At the sounds of the beep leave me a message.
I'll dunk the rim ball shot!
