Episode Summary:
Today, we will have a chat about the migration planning levels for the upcoming financial year. The overall allocation hasn’t changed. It’s still holding firm at 185,000 places. What’s different is the more onshore-focused program to help migrants already living & working in Australia make the permanent transition.
Final thoughts:
Our advice to listeners is not to wait passively for the next invitation round. Check how long you have left on your visa(Student Visa, Visitor Visa, and Bridging Visa). Make sure you are onshore if you want your application to be prioritized.
Check your occupation to see which is the most viable pathway for you. See if you can find an employer to sponsor you, as that would place you at a point of vantage for a points-based application. Just make sure you do your due diligence before signing a contract with a potential employer, as you do not want to fall for sponsorship scams.
Make sure to get your skills assessed early on. Skills assessment is a drawn-out affair. Staying ahead of the curve should be your strategy. Finally, you must have a fallback plan.
